Had an amazing day with my dear friend Kim playing with my Sugarpill Pro Shadow Palet and dipped into some Inglot as well building up my portfolio.
Also picked up some Bobbi pins and rounded out some pin curls. It’s been awhile since I’ve styled hair; definitely need to get back to it or my certification will be pointless.
Here are some teasers I made from pictures of pictures. Make up, hair, and Photography by myself, Natalie Anne.
Had a beautiful night in Little India with my Hindu princess Joy. Ate wonderful veggie treats and purchased my first tube of henna and oil. Joy has been encouraging me to begin exploring the art of Mehndi, and I am falling in love.
Last night was my first attempt and I applied the paste in my own hand. I didn’t do too bad for my first time. I am so excited to keep practicing.
I would love to be part of the beautiful Indian wedding tradition of decorating the brides.
Coming to The Garage Theater August 2… Ravens & Writing Desks: A Movement Piece!
Had an amazing Sunday working on the photo shoot for Ravens and Writing Desks this last Sunday. Had a sit down with the director and creator Angela Lopez last week discussion the characters and their make up. Sunday hit the theater and pushed out 14 characters in under 7 hours for photographer Devon Workman to shoot.
I am currently eagerly awaiting the final copies.
Please come support the show and The Garage Theater located in Long Beach, Ca!
Quick teasers and behind the scenes (make up by Natalie Anne and pro pic by Devin Workman)
So it’s almost 4am and im barely gettin home. Ive been to Destroy LA where it was ridiculously hot humid and disgusting due to all the moshing and lack of air conditioning…and ontop of that I have been shaking and grinding what I have of a booty at a party getting all hot and bothered and twerked on. Conclusion: my eyeshadow hasn’t budged and there isn’t a single crease line. I literally have put this eye primer to the ultimate test and it gets an A+ 💕 where has this primer been my whole life!? #makeupartistthings #limecrime #eyeprimer #inlove #hotdamn
Mini reviews on the rest of my face:
–Lashes Miss ADORO #435: picked these beauties up at PHAMExpo and they are my new favorite lashes
–Inglot eyeshadows: long them dry and wet. They are so blendable and buildable
–Palladio liquid eyeliner: still my current favorite going on 3 years now
–Revlon Color Stay Liquid Foundation in Ivory: first time I have ever used this product and I am highly impressed!! The oxidation was minimal and it stayed on through all the dancing too! For a $9 foundation it’s worth it. I applied with a damp beauty blender and even used it under my eyes. Also it’s the perfect shade for my pale skin. It matched down my neck great!
–beauty blender: shit. Best invention ever.
–maybelline falsies mascara in black drama (not the water proof one): still my favorite since they dropped it on the market
–EMBRYOLISSE face creme: still getting used to it but I like it so far
–Laura Mercier Face primer in oil-free: still love it, need to get another one!
Please note picture isn’t the best quality but it is unedited and it’s now after 4 am. The combination of products I used tonight I am completely stoked on!
If you know me, you know I am all for learning new techniques and education… so awhile back I purchased a GroupOn for TRENDIMI, a company that offers certified courses in make-up, personal shopping, wedding planning, and becoming a stylist (Trendimi.com). And for the low cost I figured, “Why not? What’s to lose?”
A general run down of the make up course: you have 45 days to complete 9 modules that cover everything from what products to wear on skin types to what shape your eyes are and how to best define them etc.
I anticipated the course being full of interactive videos and trainings, but it was quite simple and to the point. Each module is broken down into 3 sections: study, exercise, and exam. There are some translation issues and many misspellings throughout the website, but it is very user friendly and the information is easily absorbed. I finished all 9 modules in less then 7 hours and completed with a 95%. Only downfall is I have to purchase a “hard copy” of my certificate.
All-in-all, it was fun, but I prefer in-class hands-on demos with love person interaction for questions I may have. I definitely would not spend the $489 price listed on the website. I got it for $39. $39 I can tolerate.
But regardless, I have another certificate to frame.
